Adaline's 13th birthday party

Adaline's birthday came and went. I told her that we could do a party for her on the Saturday following her birthday. Surely the house would be done by then. Adaline invited some of her friends and they had candy and played Just Dance. The carpet layers were laying carpet on the stairs and in the family room. Tina, my mom and I were feverishly getting the house ready for Bill's

party on Labor Day.

The plumber came and my yellow room.

This is how we have lived for the past 3 months and no it has not been fun at all.

Second coat of finish on the wood floor.

Mantle is fixed.

Indoor pluming is a a great thing.

Shower

The drinking fountain. It's been fun.

White in the entry.

Blue in the entry.

Yellow. I almost chickened out when the first coat went on. We'll see how long once everything is back in place. I'm calling it my "pink hair" experience thanks to my cousin Circe. I just don't want a tan house. I want to be different and fun so here's to sugar cookie yellow.

Adaline's birthday

Adaline turned 13. She really wanted a Ukulele. In my world a ukulele is not a real instrument but whatever. She loves it.

wood floors and tile

My $10 mirror from the restore that I have to patch up and spray paint. I think it'll look great in the bathroom.

Family room cabinets and paint color. This is the same color as my bedroom and I love it.

Getting ready to paint the entry. Prep work takes forever!

Siding on the front porch. It has a primer on it. It will be painted white.

The new flooring. It is crazy how much flooring makes a construction project feel finished.

Getting out the lighting fixtures for the electrician. We still can't use the kitchen table. Friday the electricians should be very close to being done.

Tile in the bathroom and the tape that is supposed to keep everyone )including dogs) from walking on it.

Wood floor in the family room being installed.

Building the mantle. They kind of screwed it up. You really can't tell but the top part doesn't sit on the mantle. It hangs over a inch or so. It looked terrible and I nearly lost it. A dumb thing to loose it over, but I wanted so badly for it to look perfect. They did come and add a piece of molding to exited it to where I wanted the mantle to go in the first place so it turned out to be a blessing.
